Monthly Updates

With the refresh of my blog, I figured what I might start doing is monthly updates where each month, I’ll write up a blog post about whats been going on in my life. That way it lets me see what I’ve been doing month-to-month, keeps readers up-to-date with what I’ve been doing / let people catch up with what I’ve been up to, and gives me motivation to keep the blog alive lmao.

The last time I was actively blogging, I feel like I stopped because I lost motivation to write; mainly due to other higher-priority issues taking precedent over updating my dead blog. At the same time, I feel like I lost the project vision of what the blog was supposed to be for. Before I would write about topics / thoughts I liked talking about such as how I think search engines are part of the reason why there are so many people who believe in conspiracy theories. But eventually I ran out of those topics and eventually posting fizzled out.

To counter my writers block, I think my new vision for the blog will be to write about whats going on with my life across regular intervals. This not only will boost my intrinsic motivation by setting an expected timeline to upload a post; but I think this will also provide a way to catch up / review what I’ve been up to. Friends and family can go through my monthly posts and see what I’ve been up to if we haven’t spoken in a while; and I can go back and reminisce on the past.

One of the things my SO and I spoke about a little while ago was how sometimes we feel stagnated because nothing big has happened in the past little while – we’ve been coasting through life for a little while. While on one hand its nice to sit back and relax; on the other – it doesn’t feel as fulfilling. Therefore, I’d argue the blog will be a good way to recall the life-enriching activities we’ve done, and nudge us towards planning things for the future.
